Asthma Inhaler Policy Information:
If your child needs to use an inhaler during the school day, please read the two attachments and return them to the school nurse on the first day of school, August 31, 2005. Your physician will need to complete and sign the second form. This information supports Board Policy #210.1 entitled Self-Administration of Asthma Inhaler Medication. Thank you.
Attachment 1. Attachment 2Unlawful Harassment
The following excerpts are taken from Pennridge School District Policy #248 entitled "Unlawful Harassment". You are encouraged to read the policy in its entirety. A copy will be explained and distributed to students for parent review during the first week of school and posted on the School Bulletin Board outside the main office. Please discuss this important issue with your child(ren).
Know that it is the policy of the district to maintain a learning and working environment in which discrimination and harassment in any form will not be tolerated. Harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, gender, national origin, age or handicap/disability is a violation of bother federal and state law as it is a form of discrimination.
The Board directs that complaints of harassment be investigated promptly, thoroughly and impartically and that corrective action be taken immediately when allegations are verified. Confidentiality shall be maintained consistent with the District's legal and investigative obligations. No reprisals or retaliation shall occur as the result of good faith charges of harassment.
A substantiated charge against a District student shall subject such student to disciplinary action which may include, but not be limited to expulsion, consistent with the Student Discipline Code and may include but not be limited to, educational activities and/or counseling services related to the unlawful harassment.
The term "harassment" includes, but is not limited to, slurs, jokes, or other verbal, graphic or physical conduct relating to an individual's race, color, religion, ancestry, gender, gender identify, sexual orientation, national origin, age or handicap/disability.
