It is important to note that regular school attendance is essential to the successful completion of any educational program. Absences due to family travel are considered cumulative. Pennsylvania law states, “A maximum of ten days of cumulative lawful absences verified by parental notification may be
permitted during a school year. All absences beyond ten cumulative days should require an excuse from a physician.”

Please understand that instructional time is extremely important and students are required to make up work assigned by their teacher after their absence. Any school work/tests covered during the absence will be given to the student upon their return. This may be completed during the school day or at home, per the directive of your child’s teacher.
